Before you shout easier said then done, I have been there and suffered with for many, many years. I was on a lot of medication for my anxiety and panic attacks, which did serve as a relief for my anxiety.

But it did not cure my anxiety, for the reason that anxiety is not created by drugs, it is created by us. So we can only cure our anxiety completely by facing the thoughts that have created it. So in essence is about managing your thoughts and behave patterns.

Dealing with your anxiety, means you are ready and able to face what ever has created your anxiety. Because lets face it living with out of control anxiety is not a stroll in the park by any means. To be in a position for dealing with anxiety means, that you have come to recognize that it is time for you to take back control of your destiny.

This does not mean that you have to go back and re-live all your childhood traumas. What it means, is that, you recognize that you have certain patterns of behavior that you can switch into without even having to think. You have learn t to respond in this way. But obviously if you are still suffering with anxiety then you need to change that way of responding.

There are lots of ways for coping with anxiety. The most popular one is to monitor your breathing. When we are in an anxious state we tend to breathe from the chest, in other words we go into quick shallow breathing which only fuels the anxiety. When you start to feel anxious be aware of your breathing. Take a long slow deep breath, hold it for a short while the slowly breath it out. This technique really does help with coping with anxiety.

The main thing with anxiety is don’t isolate yourself, talk to people tell them how you feel and what is happening to you. It does not matter what they think. The important thing is to get it out there. Don’t hold it inside of you. Lots of anxiety suffers are to scared to tell people, because of what they might think or say.

I know sometimes it hard and that your anxiety can seem irrational, but its real enough to you and that’s whats important! How it is impacting on you and how it is affecting your life that’s whats important.
